Outside Consulting Board


Our Outside Consulting Board is comprised of a small group of top clients and accomplished experts offering innovative advice and dynamic perspectives to our local LPL Financial office. Our Team consults with this board throughout the year and meets bi-annually to gain advice and strategic direction on a variety of topics. The Outside Consulting Board plays an integral role in setting the future direction and key priorities of our firm.


Justin E. Hugo, M.D.  

Justin is a family medicine physician on staff at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. He received his M.D. from Saint Louis University and completed his residency at St. John’s Mercy in St. Louis where he served as chief resident in his final year. He is currently the Chairman of the Family Medicine Department at St. Anthony’s Medical Center. In addition, he serves on the Medical Executive Committee and the Medical Staff Quality Committee at the hospital. He is a member of the St. Anthony’s Physician Organization. He was a member of this organization’s Executive Committee for eight years and has previously served in roles as Chairman of their Finance Committee and as the Medical Director for their electronic medical records. He remains a member of their Finance Committee to this day. Outside of St. Anthony’s he also serves as a Medical Director on the Advisory Board for Essence Healthcare. Justin serves on the Christ Community Lutheran School Board of Directors and currently serves as its Vice President.                                       

Justin is married to his wife Cara and they have two sons, Ryan and Zach. He enjoys spending time with his family and is involved in his son’s athletics teams including coaching his son Ryan’s soccer team. When Justin is not involved with his work responsibilities or family activities you can find him on the golf course or supporting St. Louis’ local sports teams.

David Mason

Mr. Mason is the founder and CEO of David Mason & Associates. As a registered architect, he provides oversight for major clients while also overseeing the corporate marketing effort. As the President of the firm, with over 36 years of experience, he aims to investigate the possibility of eliminating a problem rather than following the temptation of solving the problem. His design philosophy emphasizes a critical examination of established attitudes and establishing a balance between practical function and human needs. David’s management and technical leadership skills assure the client that the project team will receive the resources and the leadership required to meet or exceed all project goals and objectives.

Carrie Reuwer

Carrie Reuwer is a Director at Monsanto, currently working on the Monsanto/Bayer Integration Planning Team. Throughout her career, she has leveraged her process, systems and communications expertise to serve multiple functions including Corporate Strategy, Commercial Centers of Excellence, Corporate Affairs, Global Information Technology and Finance.  Prior to joining Monsanto in 2004, Carrie completed the Financial Management Program (FMP) at General Electric and was a Senior Business Consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. 

Carrie is passionate about helping women and youth develop skills to be successful in life. She is regularly engaged with charitable and educational institutions, including Connections to Success, the United Way Women’s Leadership Society, and the UNC Alumni Association.

Carrie graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She lives in Wildwood, MO with her husband Larry and kids, Ryan and Emily. Outside of work, you will find Carrie swimming, biking or running in preparation for her next triathlon. In 2017, Carrie achieved USA Triathlon All-American and IRONMAN All World Athlete Gold status.

Daniel J. Patterson, Ed D

Mr. Patterson currently works as an Executive coach. He has prior experience with leading a number of management and organization development projects for start-ups and turnarounds as both an internal and external consultant. Successful as a leader, he served in a number of senior executive positions/teams in for profit, non-profit and military organizations. His has experience in organizations that ranged in size from small business to Fortune 50. Responsibilities included the design and implementation of programs to enhance performance metrics, strategy, action plans, structures, processes, leadership and culture. Mr. Patterson led teams of 50 + members with financial accountability up to $25 million. Captain, USNR; Ret. Doctorate in Education Leadership with specific focus on leadership and organization development.

Ryan Sneed

Mr. Sneed has a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering from Missouri S&T, and an MBA from Webster University. Over the last 20 years, Ryan has had a number of engineering, sales, business ownership, and delivery roles and is currently a Client Services Director at Maryville Technologies headquartered in St. Louis, MO. Ryan’s current focus is the Technology Business Management space, which combines the financial management discipline with the business of technology that allows his clients to deliver IT service cost transparency, budgeting and forecasting. 

Combining the financial and technology focus with the marketing and sales experience, Ryan brings a plethora of positive outside influence, innovative ideas, and market savvy to our advisory board. On the weekends, Ryan and his wife Gail, daughter Rachel, and US Marine son Kyle, enjoy the outdoors at a family farm, gardening, fishing and relaxing in the lake.

Molly Spowal

Molly Spowal has been with J.W. Terrill Retirement Services since 2000. During that time she has worked with all forms of employer sponsored retirement plans including ERISA and non-ERISA defined contribution plans, corporate defined benefit plans and Taft Hartley defined benefit plans. Her experience and expertise helps guide her clients through the complexities and risks of offering an employer sponsored retirement plan. In addition to working closely with plan sponsors, she provides education and guidance to plan participants. Prior to joining J.W. Terrill, Molly worked with Edward Jones.

Molly has a BA in Communication from DePauw University, an MA in Communication from the University of Colorado, and an MBA from Washington University.

Molly and her husband Ryan have three children, Jack, Julia and Josephine.

Thomas L. Turner

Thomas L. Turner, CPA, recently retired as Chief Financial Officer of Stupp Bros., Inc., where he served for over 32 years. Stupp Bros., Inc. is a 160-year-old family-owned business that manufactures large diameter steel pipe for the oil and gas industry, fabricates steel for bridges and buildings and owns a controlling interest in Midwest BankCentre, Inc. Turner continues to serve on the Boards of Directors of Stupp and Midwest. Tom is a U.S. Army veteran (1967-1969) and a graduate of St. Louis University. Tom and his wife, Sandy, have three adult children and seven grandchildren.

Carol Borowy

Carol Borowy retired as a Division Vice President after 42 years with Jacobs Engineering Group, a global Fortune 500 design and construction firm.  Carol led the national marketing group for Jacobs' Buildings Division across four assigned regions and was responsible for the management of staff and budget. Her role included participating in the development of major pursuits and market strategies for targeted key clients and existing core clients.  She was part of Jacobs’ business leadership team responsible for delivering annual business plans as well as developing longer term strategic initiatives that helped drive company direction and growth.  Carol was involved in three Jacobs acquisitions where, as a member of a multi-disciplined team, she performed due diligence and managed the subsequent integration of marketing and sales staff into the Jacobs sales organization. Throughout her career, Carol assumed leadership positions in several professional associations including the Society of American Military Engineers Washington Post, Society for Marketing Professional Services, and Women in Government Relations, Inc.  Her various roles with Jacobs included relocations to Washington, DC; Newport Beach, CA; Fort Worth, TX; and St. Louis, MO.  In retirement, Carol has been involved in various volunteer activities including being a mentor with Boys Hope Girls Hope of St Louis.
