Principal

Mark is the founder and majority owner of your local St. Louis branch of LPL Financial. His primary responsibilities have evolved over the years from working closely with clients to managing money and running the business. Today, he’s focused on managing the firm’s model portfolios, allocating capital, and monitoring the markets for risks and opportunities with the assistance of the LPL Research Team. Mark also consults on a case-by-case basis with clients on their more complex financial and estate planning matters.

Mark first began honing his core financial knowledge while studying finance at Clemson University in South Carolina and later while pursuing his MBA at Emory University in Atlanta. He is a CPA and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.

Mark is also a published author and has appeared on MoneyTalk Live to discuss equity-based compensation planning, small business ownership issues, and retiree distribution planning among other topics. His firm was nominated as the 2007 "Practice of the Year" by the PEAK Advisor Alliance - a network of many of the country's most successful wealth advisors. And although Mark is proud to serve clients in over 20 states across the country, St. Louis Magazine consistently names Mark to their list of FIVE STAR Wealth Managers1 (2012 - 2020).  In 2011, the St. Louis Business Journal featured Mark as one of the top 10 Wealth Managers in St. Louis as part of their inaugural NABCAP (National Association of Board Certified Advisory Practices) survey2. Finally, LPL Financial consistently recognizes Mark as one of its top advisors based on overall production per year (top 1% of all LPL advisors nationwide, 2014-2020).

Mark and his wife, Kathy, both grew up in Chesterfield, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis) where they continue to reside, surrounded by family and close friends. They have two daughters and a dog. Mark enjoys spending time coaching the girls' soccer teams, collecting and drinking wine, golfing, and he's still trying to teach himself to play acoustic guitar.
