Rather than trying to be all things to all people, we seek to be the best fit for individuals with portfolios greater than $1 million. We think it is essential for you to work with an advisor that is intimately familiar with your unique needs, issues and opportunities from the start. In our view, the right-fit advisor knows your type of situation so well that they can ask the right questions, provide a personalized perspective and put in place custom strategies.
We serve clients with assets valued in excess of $1 million. Such assets include, cash, money markets, stocks, bond, mutual funds, or self-directed retirement accounts. Also included are, stock options, business ownership interests, employer retirement accounts (e.g., 401k, 403b, etc.) and real estate.
We work with individuals and families with a wide variety of knowledge, interest and experience regarding financial matters. We can explain as little or as much as you want. Intuitive "dashboard" indicators provide our clients with needed clarity, while keeping most of the complexity behind the scenes. We’ve found that both financially sophisticated and unsophisticated clients prefer this streamlined review method. Since many of our client engagements involve two spouses with different levels of knowledge and interest in financial matters, this approach is particularly effective.
We know what it’s like to have a seven-figure portfolio; many of our clients are in this precise economic category. For instance, we know that it is one thing having a portfolio this size while earning a high income. It is an entirely different thing living off or planning to live off such a portfolio with no earned income. We also know that you probably have areas of your finances where you have been greatly under-served and other areas that, good intentions aside, are much more complex than you need. No worries, in our Discovery Session, we will quickly assess where you are and hone in on the greatest opportunities for improvement. Also, since our firm is specifically designed for individuals with portfolios of $1 million to $10 million, we will likely be able to provide you with features you didn’t even think were available.
Believe it or not, individuals with portfolios of $10 million to $40 million often have the most glaring opportunities for improvement. Why? Often, they have greatly outgrown the systems and support they have in place. Poor clarity, under-performing assets and partly executed estate plans are typical consequences of this over-growth. Additionally, we find that clients in this range have not taken advantage of economies of scale. In other words, often they are exposed to more costs than necessary considering the volume of their assets. Finally, the horsepower of support in place is commonly an issue. You need to work with professionals who can spot issues and provide remedies quickly. As we review the features of our Wealth Management System during our Discovery Session, you will see how a much more robust process will benefit you and your family.
To reach the $40 million and up level, you or someone in your family was likely very successful in business or real estate. At this range in the spectrum, it’s common to entertain the idea of setting up your own quasi-family office. We like to think of ourselves as a compelling alternative as your family’s CFO -- a powerful back office that tends to your family’s financial affairs, and coordinates the efforts of your entire team of advisors -- CPA, estate planning attorney, banker, insurance professional and the like -- that your family can utilize to take care of a lot of the details. We’ve invested hundreds of thousands of dollars and many years setting up our infrastructure. We think a review of our capabilities will reveal that it is more economical utilizing what we have built rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.
